A Study in Scarlet by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
I just read the very first Sherlock Holmes novel Doyle has written called A Study in Scarlet, which takes place when John Watson first meets Sheflock Holmes, a strange, yet extremely intelligent detective. They venture into a mystery about a woman who seems to have committed suicide, but when Sherlock gets deep into the data, he finds that it was murder. See how one murder spreads through the story, with an unexpected ending. See how Watson, an Afghanistan soldier learnsfrom Sherlock's brilliance and knack for crime and puzzles.
