Hello fellow cozy mystery readers! I'm a member of the Gothic Romance Forum and I'm so glad this new forum has been founded.

My tastes in mysteries range the gamut from Edgar Allan Poe to Ruth Rendell and beyond, but I especially enjoy the "cozy" subgenre. I'm fond of the amateur sleuth, the country house or small town setting, the ingenious solution that requires the puzzling out of clues and bits of gossip picked up by sharp ears, rather than forensics and DNA lab work. Although the unspeakable act of murder is always the catalyst for a mystery story, I find cozies a soothing escape from the chaos of life in a world gone mad.

My current favorite author in the field is M. C. Beaton, though I'm eager to discover other authors, old and new, through this forum.
